I very rarely step into Walmart anymore! Sometimes there are still good deals to be found. They are not updated often though! Yes...Walmart items are generally priced cheaper than any other store...BUT (a BIG but) when you catch the sales combined with your doubled coupons (Walmart doesn't double) you pay way less than what Walmart charges!
Need an example? As I was talking to a friend who stopped by earlier, I explained that Walmart generally has a $2.50 price tag on their smaller (12-14-oz?) boxes of cereal! Publix may charge $3.89 for that same box (so Walmart is cheaper? Or is it?) Publix will put cereal on sale BOGO about every 3-4 weeks making it $1.94 per box (at this point Publix is cheaper). If you combine this sale with a $1/2 coupon you pay $2.89 for 2 boxes of cereal versus Walmart's price of $5 for the same 2 boxes! This example is played over and over with various products.....the reason I no longer shop in Walmart, unless someone posts a really good deal there! Walmart is a good back-up for those last minute things that you may need if there is no sale or you don't have a coupon for the item! How many times have YOU gone into Walmart and just bought what was on your list? Yet another reason I don't shop there! lol
