But how do you score all those great deals when their policy is so terrible? (being that you have to spend $10 before they'll take a single coupon?)

THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! I live in an area where Ingle's is the only grocery store. Yours is the first blog I've come across with specific details on how to save at Ingle's and I just wanted to say "Thanks!"

I was wondering if you have gone to try to get all of these things yet. They have never stopped me from using coupons and I rarely pay attention to how many per $10, but what a hassle if they do decide to. Any ideas?

April & Sarah:

I had planned to release my shopping trip from this week today but have misplaced my receipt. I hope to have the article up by tomorrow at the latest to share how you have to accomplish it!

To make a long story short, for now, you have to be able to make a list of the coupons that you plan to use (based on my list) I used 36 coupons in my transaction yesterday so I had to spend $120 for all 36 coupons to triple. My total came up to around $100 and I needed $20 more...I took advantage of the .98/lb hams (normally $2.28/lb) to keep my savings higher.

Another great tip is to use coupons for items that are free or close to free that DO NOT have to be tripled! For example I purchased 5 of the Johnsons Buddies Soaps which added $5 more dollars to my total for FREE. I also took advantage of the Pringles selects that are on sale for $1.88 (I have $1/1 coupons from 12/28 PG) making them .88 each.

Initially I had planned on saving around 66% with my prepared shopping trip. Once I was there, they were out of the Totino's and Rubbermaid containers (which would have yielded higher savints) and I had to improvise (the toughest part).

Sarai: You are very welcome! Hotcouponworld.com has information on Ingles also if you haven't checked them out yet! I post match-ups weekly on Ingles in addition to the other stores!

The Ingles in Cartersville is very particular when it comes to their triples. Each of the cashiers are required to count the coupons and make sure that they are not tripling ones that they should not. I am not sure if you store would do this but I can say that you may want to be prepared to take some items off of your order.

I had only planned to purchase the thing that were 80% or more off of the retail price and those were the things on my list. I ended up only saving around 55% which was not my best trip there. I consistenly save 65% or more on all of my weekly shopping trips (and try to keep it that way).

I also had extra money in my $100 weekly budget from the prior weeks in January to make up for the difference! I ended up coming right in on budget this week and still have the overage!

Tips For Everyone:

One of the extra steps that I took was to write down the shelf prices of each item I purchased in my trip. Once I bought everything on my list I totaled the amount up and totaled the number of tripled coupons up. This is how I knew I had to spend $120. The next step was buying the hams to make my $120.

My personal opinion:

I have Kroger and Publix stores also. I much prefer to shop at those stores over Ingles. Most individuals do not have the time to take these extra steps at Ingles and the savings, generally, are not as good other stores. They also typically run sales on items longer than any other store. They may add a few new items weekly but keep most of the items for 2 or 3 weeks at a time! Publix changes its sales out weekly and Kroger does also (for the most part)!

I am glad that everyone had a chance to visit and I hope to see you back soon! If you have any more questions please email me!

Thanks for the list! I live in Ellijay and I have yet to have them actually triple the coupons, I'm not sure why. Maybe this will be my lucky day.

I just noticed that in the small print of my Ingles sale paper it says "Tripled value cannot exceed the price of the item."
Does this mean I can't do any of the freebie deals you listed above??

Anonymous #1. Just keep in mind that they have to manually enter the 3rd set. They will automatically double! I had no problems from the store on Joe Frank Harris! Let me know how it goes!

Anonymous #2 There are 2 ways that this will pan out for you. 1. They will adjust the triple coupon down to the amount or 2. They will refuse to triple the coupon at all (only double it). I have had both happen during this triples event and the last one that they did! YMMV

I'm a triple first timer.... Is is $10 before coupons or after?

Lissa said...

$10 before tax and coupons!

Hope this helps!
