Do you go through your coupons and throw away the expired ones or just try and use them? Thanks for all your great informations!
Nataly
Hi Nataly!
I go through my coupons once per month (usually the last weekend of the month).
I pull out the expired ones and put them in a big brown bag.
I use to have a lady that I would give them to each month (to take them to her sister who had an outlet to get them to military base families that could still use them after they had expired) but now I no longer have that contact...she moved!
I usually wait to "purge" them that last week until after I know whether or not I will be using them for that current weeks sales!
I usually know that if I haven't used them already...that I probably won't unless a last minute deal comes up at a store!
I reason that I "purge" once per month is based on the P&G insert. Since it comes out once per month and most of the time all of the coupons expire...this gave me a pretty good guideline to follow!
I use the binder method and this is what has been the easiest for me!
If you use the whole insert method I have heard that people go through them once a week, twice a month or once a month. They file them in such a way that the folder in the back has the furthest out expiration dates on them. Then when they get ready to go through them they just pull the last or the last few folders and only keep the coupons that are still good. They usually place those in their little expanding file or baggie!
I think that you would be pretty organized if you did them once per month...anything more than that will create a need to buy more baseball inserts, folders, expanding files etc!
I hope this helps! Thanks for asking!
Lissa
