Making Gift Baskets Using Your Stockpile

Jennifer wrote in to share her Housewarming Gift Basket Idea with us. She was able to put $200 worth of items in for only $20 OOP!

I often give these types of baskets out for all types of occasions.

This past Christmas money was really tight and so I gave everyone a "stockpile" basket. I honestly think that I had more gift appreciation than ever before!

I made snack baskets for the kids and cleaning/food baskets for the adults! Everyone loved them! I was even able to snag some really great deals on DVD's to add to the baskets!

Be sure to check out Jennifer's basket here! She took a great picture of the items!

Waste Not Want Not! A New Life for T-Shirts!

I was recently visiting a favorite blog of mine...BeCentsAble. Katherine did a post that you can read here about recycling t-shirts into re-usable bags! I though that this was very interesting and plan on tackling some projects of my own! I love the idea of having one for my daughter made out of one of her t-shirts! She already has a Hello Kitty one I found at Target in the $1 area but I think she will like helping me sew her own also!

Grocery stores all around sell these re-usable bags for .99 each. Why pay for them when you probably have some shirts that you can use to create your own! She has the sewn version along with directions on the no-sew version! Be sure to check it out!

I am all for re-usable bags! I usually get paper bags if I buy more than my re-usable bags will hold!
