Ingles Triples Shopping Trip 1/20/09

Ingles is a little bit tricky when you want to double or triple coupons at their store! You can only double or triple 3 coupons for every $10 you spend! Be sure to check back with me later today to explain how this works and the processes that I go through to prepare for a shopping trip at Ingles!

They were out of many of the items on my list...but I brought back-up coupons for items to purchase just in case this happened! The result...my savings percentage was not as high as I had planned but still a decent deal!

Initially I had added a bag of tangerines for $2.98. I saw that my total was $124.87 and asked if I could remove them since I didn't really need them. She took them off for me but it didn't adjust my tax. I am not sure what exactly happened because usually the tax is adjusted also???

Total: $121.89
Total Coupons and Savings: $61.60 (51%)
Total OOP: $60.29

Overall, I didn't save as much as I had intended to but I have some great items to add to my pantry and to add to my donation supply! It was a little more work than I had anticipated but I had the time on my hand to see what I could save!

I would love to see any trips that you have blogged about! Please feel free to leave a link to your shopping trip! If you do not have a blog you can still share your information in the comments section!

Total Annual Budget: $5200.00 ($100/week)
YTD Spending: $174.44
YTD Remaining: $5025.20
Total YTD Savings: $1035.94

It didn't adjust the tax because the tangerines are food items that aren't taxed! :)

Tami...thanks for leaving your information. I will be sure to check it out...maybe there is something I missed!

Here in Georgia there is a 3% tax on food and a 7% tax on all other things. Anytime I have used coupons at any of the stores the tax has also adjusted down along with the total due...this is what confused me because the tax didn't come down in this shopping trip! I wasn't sure if the manual entries had something to do with it or not.

Thanks for trying to help me figure it out!
