My Second Shopping Trip Of The Week: Publix With A Profit of $2.01!

Publix didn't know what had hit them when I checked out with 139 items...each with their own coupon and some with 2 coupons each!

Warner Robins gets a different set of coupon inserts (the regional ones...no where near what comes in the metro paper). I also trade coupons through HotCouponWorld and through Michelle's site (IHeartPublix) and one of my trading buddies Reagan has offered to mail me at least 4 inserts each week. Without her help I wouldn't be able to get near the amount of deals that I am accustomed to.

I had to mention that Warner Robins gets the "other" regional inserts because of the reaction that I had at Publix today. A lot of the coupons that I used were ones out of the metro paper and many of the locals here wouldn't have access to them. They are not used to customers who have access to these other coupons and you could really tell!

I called before hand to ask customer service what the store coupon policy was. I found out that the only difference was that they didn't take the Target coupons. Everything else was the same! I was so excited to find this out!

Since I had so many items and I was new to this store I made sure that I introduced myself to the customer service manager. I let them know what I was doing and that I had a coupon for everything in my cart. They were all so surprised to see someone shop this way (which in return surprised me). I thought for sure that there were "Me's" in every town!

There were not that many people in the store and everyone was able to gather around. We had about 6 employees and the manager checking me out and watching the total go down and down! They couldn't believe what they had just seen! I watched in their amazement and some of them genuinely wanted to know how to do it! (I can't wait to start teaching classes again!)

I didn't want to just stand there a gloat about what was going on so I made sure that I had extra coupons for most of the items that I was buying to share with the cashiers and manager (yes even the manager excepted some of my coupons). It was so great! I am looking forward to befriending everyone in this store just as I have at every other store I have shopped at! They were all so nice!

I even had the chance to meet a fellow couponer, Shonda, who has just started using coupons. She, like many others, made the comment that she had never shopped at Publix before until a friend of hers convinced her otherwise!

Ok...here is what I bought today!

YAY!!!! I would have loved to see their faces. I am giggling just imagining it. It is so exciting to share this process. I had a friend's husband post a thank you to me as a status on teaching them how to do it, which in turn got people asking. LOVE IT!

This is awesome! Where did you get the coupons for the Scotch mailing products?

i get the same reaction when i check out at my local publix as well. i guess somoe stores aren't used to people using coupons as heavily as others. great job!! i tried to explain to my co-workers that using coupons is a definite savings, but it has fallen on deaf ears.

I did not realize you live in Warner Robins -- I am in Macon and have been couponing since March 2009. You did a great job on this trip. I am heading back tomorrow; you gave me several ideas for overages.

(I am loving our new store up here)

I'm blown away! We have a Pulix here, but haven't been in it. *lol* I just started doing the coupon thing about two months ago, and so far I haven't had much savings, but it's going up each time we shop - I'm bound and deterined to get the hang of it and walk out with as much as you did!
